Food Miles
We aim to keep the miles your food travels to a minimum. When not using our own home produced vegetables, we aim to source from farmers and wholesalers as local as possible to us.
When delivering your boxes we work hard to ensure excess mileage is avoided and are currently investigating the potential for using biofuel in our delivery vehicles.
Packaging
We aim to use as little packaging as possible. When packing is done by us we use paper bags where appropriate and minimise the use of plastic bags. We also strongly encourage our customers to return their empty boxes so we can re-use them.
Air Miles
We commit never to buying in produce which has been air-freighted.
Fair-trade
If we source fruit from developing countries, we always endeavour to buy fair-trade.
Banking
We bank with the Co-operative Bank who we felt had the strongest pro-active ethical trading stance.
Profits
We commit to give a portion of our profits each year to projects in the developing world. The projects we aim to help are aimed at poor farmers and disabled children.
